* Romania’s active and efficient participation in the process of sustainable development and the achievement of a territorial cohesion.

* To consolidate the partnership with the central public administration.

* To represent the interests of the members of the Federation in the relation with the central public administration, other non-governmental organizations and third parties, at domestic and at international level;

* To harmonize the interests of the members of the Federation with a view to implement the process of sustainable development and to achieve territorial cohesion.

* To elaborate drafts of normative acts with a view to improving the activity of the members of the Federation as well as formulating proposals for changing or improving the existing legislation.

* To organize databases and information concerning the local community.

* Affiliation to or association with other domestic or foreign organizations, whose goals are compatible with those of the Federation, on legal terms;

* To promote a coherent spatial development in Romania.

* To collaborate with other similar organizations in order to implement the politics of sustainable development.

* To consolidate and develop competitiveness at regional and international level.
